Where Tollgate Inn currently exists used to be the Mt. Hood Fruit Market.
In 1972, Mike Lesowski and partner Mike Lauderback opened the Mt Hood Fruit Market, which was a full service open air country store and nursery. Together the two Mikes developed a very successful wholesale and retail business.
After numerous attempts by others to purchase the site for a restaurant, they decided to do it themselves. In 1978, the two Mikes worked with a developer to come up with the theme of what you see today, and in 1979 they completed the conversion from fruit stand to the Tollgate Inn Restaurant.
